Abstract: In this expository talk I will give an introduction to some of the main ideas of quadratic Chabauty method, with emphasis on the computational approach. More precisely, quadratic Chabauty method is the first nonabelian step of Kim’s program for achieving an algorithmic determination of the set of rational points on a nice curve X/Q of genus bigger than 1.
